ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Everything you need to know before applying loads, boundary conditions and material properties. Whether you are a new or an experienced MSC Apex user, you should find value in attending this free MSC Apex workshop on FE model preparation.

The focus of this workshop will be on:

  • CAD cleanup,

  • Midsurfacing

  • Meshing

  • Structural connections (connectors, interactions and mesh dependent ties)

Since FE model preparation can take up to 80% of your time, MSC Apex has shown, time and time again, that it can be reduced 10 fold. However, to achieve such a dramatic reduction in model preparation time, you need to be aware of what is possible when using MSC Apex and how to use all the tools that are at your disposal.

In this workshop, we will first cover the FE preparation of a typical complex model from start to finish and then start to work through all the geometry, mesh creation and editing tools. We go through them one at a time, to show you their standard uses, but more importantly, also their non-standard and extra value-adding uses.

The workshop will be interactive and a laptop with the provided MSC Apex Student Edition installed is essential. Should you not have a suitable laptop, please let us know beforehand since we only have a limited number of laptops available.

It is our aim that at the end of this workshop, you should be as proficient in using MSC Apex, as someone with many months' worth of experience, if not years.
